Ban of a user, and other hard things

Postby VladTepes on 2010. Feb 10., Wed 23:06

I make this post, to let it be clear some facts ("home rules") about administration of EKF, specially on the hard decisions like banning a user, or like.

From the very first moment of the start of EKF it has been agreed between us, the two admins (Pouchie, who is the owner of the forum, she works with it it 24/7, putting her soul out to make it a good place; and me the tech admin, who gives the server, makes the board work, and giving my advices on daily forum things to Pouchie, using my forum administrating experiences), that hard decisions (like: making or deleting a subforum; announcing or recalling a MOD; or banning a user) we will make always together, none of us will act alone, without of the agreement of the other.

In short words, such hard decisions always need TWO positive votes from the two admins, in case of disagreement we will not make any final thing, we will discuss until the point we both can accept/agree.

This home rule we established first of all for our own good, for our own soul to be relaxed, since this way it is much harder to make mistakes - and if considering that all of us are only humans, with work/family/health/anything that can make a bad day - we are all possible to do so, but using this way, it is much more safe for us, and not at least for the users of the forum.
This is also should avoid either of us to act/decide under any kind of pressure.

Also pls note:
In a case of a user get banned it is still not excluded, that we made a mistake, we misunderstood something, or we were misinformed, etc. So in such case, if you feel that you were causeless/unfairly banned, you are (really) welcome to protect your rights, to obstruct, to let us have evidences, or else - but only in private if needed by email - and only in a polite, cold-head style. We promise that we will reconsider if seems/proven to be needed.

Both our email address is public, but let be here in case needed.

A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing. (rock)

That it's not the typical hasty "I do not like you, now I'm going to ban you, because you'r stupid and I'm not" approach some admins tend to have :)
